Guitar Pull fans sleep outside for tickets

Dozens of country music fans are camping right now at the James Brown Arena. They're determined to be among the first to get their hands on tickets for the Guitar Pull which go on sale Saturday morning at 10. The concert benefits a non-profit which helps families during the holidays. More are expected to full the sidewalks of the James Brown Arena and camp-out. The loops are being fastened while dozens pitch tents. "I'm having fun it's like a big old family reunion," said Camper Jeff Avert. Avert better known as rat, camps out yearly for the guitar pull. The concert sponsored by Kicks 99 showcases some of the biggest acts every year. This year you'll see artists like Darius Rucker and Georgia Florida Line. Cindy Papalski and her family came prepared. They brought generators, TVs, air mattresses and night lights. "It's a fun atmosphere until the train comes at night when you sleep," said Avert. The proceeds will be split between the United Way and the James Brown arena. Every event held here will help the city pay off a nearly $5 million dollar bond that was used to renovate and make updates to the arena two years ago. "All the money that comes into the show helps our bottom line," said Global Spectrum Director Monty Jones. The fun continues with a blast from the past Keith Sweat concert sponsored in part by News12. Tickets are selling for 35 dollars a piece, but could double or triple when people start buying and selling them online.
