AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- News 12 has learned about the funeral arrangements for a longtime Georgia lawmaker.

Jack Connell's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Reynolds Street.

His visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Home on Davis Road.

Connell died at the age of 93 on Wednesday.

He was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 1969 to 2002 and is credited with bringing growth to Augusta and to the medical community.

River Watch Parkway was dedicated in Connell's honor back in 2006.

Connell was a member of the Augusta Rotary Club since 1952.
