AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Former City Administrator Fred Russell has been fired for around three weeks now but he's still a hot topic of discussion.

Leaders went round and round about one commissioner's request of getting access to Russell's hard drive and the City Attorney.

"Who in the hell wants to come work here under those conditions," Commissioner Joe Jackson said.

Commissioners Joe Jackson fired up over another commissioners request. Commissioner Marion Williams wants the hard drive from the computer of Former City Administrator Fred Russell. We caught up with him on his way out.

"Wait until I get it," Commissioner Marion Williams said.

Interim Administrator Tanika Bryant told leaders it could take weeks to go through all the information. City Attorney Andrew Mackenzie said it'll take even longer to redact any personal information.

"What's the objective? Why are we going after something? In my opinion to me it's a witch hunt," Jackson said.

"I think that's trival. I don't think there is anything to be gained. I think we are just wasting time," Commissioner Bill Lockett said.

It was determined that he does have rights to the information since he's a commissioner.

Williams then tried to hold a vote of no confidence in City Attorney Andrew Mackensie. Commissioner Grady Smith says Williams has more pressing issues like the nearly $3,000 he owes the county in back property taxes.

"When you've got a little dot or blemish next to your name, What's the reason? You never know if that will affect your vote on certain issues," Commissioner Grady Smith said.

"Certainly we have other things we need to be spending our energy on such as the Cyber Command and the Cancer Center at GRU. Those are things I'd rather focus on than a vote of 9 to 1 to keep our council," Commissioner Donnie Smith said.

Commissioners disagreed with Williams and voted 9-1 to keep their attorney a little while longer.
