AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Augusta Waste Management is preparing to send out your new trash bills.

Director Mark Johnson says most of the trash calls have stopped -- except assisted living calls.

Commissioner Marion Williams still wants to trash it all together.

"People are still complaining about this trash. It was a bad deal that wasn't broke, and I don't know why we're trying to fix it," Williams said.

A no vote of confidence around City Attorney Andrew MacKenzie's job performance did not happen. They paid an outside lawyer to talk about it, then Commissioner Bill Lockett had it removed from the agenda.

"I will not discuss personnel address," said Commissioner Wayne Guilfoyle.

Commissioners did not vote on McDonald Transit's bus proposal. Leaders needed extra time considering a judge's recent ruling telling them to redo the insurance contract process for more than 2,000 city employees.

"We'll have a presentation from the company. We can make a more informed decision. Right now, it's to early to even know," said Commissioner Corey Johnson.

A transit citizens advisory committee was created and bylaws were established. Commissioners will now have to appoint individuals discussed.
