AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Augusta Commissioners are taking on the Policy and the Procedure Manual in committee meetings.
Commissioner Marion Williams says the manual needs to be changed on how it deals with employees on probation. Currently, Williams says the manual does not give new employees a chance to appeal their firing.
Commissioner Corey Johnson would like to give the Personnel Board back the final say once employees appeal their firing. Right now the City Administrator Fred Russell has the final word.
Augusta could be on it's way to becoming an Age Friendly Community. Commissioners will debate these issues on Monday.
