WILLISTON, S.C. (WRDW) -- S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley was in Barnwell County on Tuesday for a big announcement about jobs coming to the area.
"$4.4 million invested in Williston. Ninety-five new jobs in Barnwell County. That is a great day in South Carolina!" she announced to area leaders and business people.
Dayco Products LCC, a maker of automotive components, and National Beverage Screen Printers Inc., a manufacturer of beverage vending machine parts and decals, are both expanding their current operations in Barnwell County.
"That truly is a recognition of the extraordinary people who work here," said Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C.
The $2 million investment for Dayco Products is expected to generate at least 15 new jobs, and the $2.5 million investment for NBS is expected to generate 80 new jobs.
Dayco Products will expand by bringing a new line for timing belt production online at the company's Williston plant this summer. The company will begin hiring for the new positions Aug. 1 through the Barnwell SC Works Center.
"And it's something that with all the requirement of fuel efficiency on cars that are coming, it's a product line that we can grow here in Williston," said Mike Kamsickas, the executive vice president of Global Operations at Dayco Products.
As for NBS, it has added a 14,400 square foot building in Williston. New equipment for the company's graphics production operation will be added and is expected to be completed over a five-year period.
This company has already begun hiring for the new positions. Anyone interested in job opportunities with the company should contact Aiken Staffing.
"They're strong members of the corporate community, and they're growth will just mean further growth, hopefully, down the road," said Marty Martin, the executive director of the Barnwell County Economic Development Corporation.
