Augusta, GA---The Augusta Commission has several high profile topics on the agenda today.

First, the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame's Botanical Gardens. They've been shut down for a little over a month. Now the city is proposing leasing the Golf and Gardens for one dollar for the next six months. Of course upkeep will cost money. The Community Foundation has agreed to collect private donations. The commission will vote on the mayor's proposal today.

And then there is the Trade, Exhibit, and Event, or TEE Center. It would be a 40 thousand square foot building. That is enough space for car shows, expos, and more. The vision is to bring hotel rooms, ballrooms and exhibit space all under one roof. Barry White, president of the Augusta visitor's bureau, says, "We think it will separate us from our competition. It's a good financial move for the city and having everything under one roof will be ideal." Click here for more on the TEE Center.

Taxpayers approved the $20 million needed to build the TEE Center in 2005. Since then commissioners have voted it down twice. Today we find out if the third time really is the charm.

And there's a little more than $4.2 million remaining in the SPLOST fund. Commissioners will decide on a motion to use that money to build a training facility for firefighters.

Commissioner Andy Cheek is also planning a presentation on what's being called the Ellis Street Option. The motion would turn Ellis Street and 12th Street into waterways lined with shops.
