News 12 First at 5:00, July 6, 2007

AUGUSTA--- Former state senator Charles Walker will remain behind bars. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Walker’s appeal of his convictions and ten year prison sentence for corruption.

The three judge panel ruled any errors during Walker’s trial were harmless and that his sentence should be upheld.

Walker is serving his time at the federal prison in Estill, SC. He is scheduled for release in 2014.

Glad that Charles is staying behind bars. We are all much safer now. Just hope that he stays behind bars until he completes his entire sentence.

For all of you that didn't know Mr. Walker, he's a great man and I don't know why they are trying to make him out to be such a bad person. He did a HELL of alot for 30901 area and he had faith in our young black youth, something that lack by a whole lot of other people. When everyone gave up on the BOTTOM(30901)he stood up for us and did his best to make things better. I will always look up to Mr. Walker.
