There's good news in the form of $5 million cash for MCG's new dental school.
The Georgia House Appropriations Committee voted today in favor of giving the Medical College's new dental school the $5 million it was asking for.
The new school will cost $108 million total, with the school raising about $30 million of that. The rest needs to come from the state.
The measure is expected to pass the full House and then go on to the Senate.
Also today, Senator Jim Whitehead proposed renaming the dental school for the late Congressman Charlie Norwood.
