ATLANTA, Ga.---The Georgia Senate, on a 41 to 15 vote, has approved a bill to expand
the rights of Georgians to carry weapons.

It would allow those with concealed weaons permits to carry their
weapon in a state park or historic site.

Drivers who are legally eligible to obtain a gun license could also have
a weapon in their car. However, one part of the bill was watered down.

Only those with concealed weapons permits could leave their weapons in a locked car in their workplace parking lot. The owners
of the property would also have to approve.

About 300,000 people in Georgia currently have concealed weapons
permits.

The bill is House Bill 89.
