The South Carolina legislature has postponed voting on a statewide smoking ban that would affect places where people gather.

The House judiciary committee decided to wait on a state Supreme Court ruling on current bans in several areas. One involves the unincorporated areas of Aiken County.

In Atlanta, the Georgia Senate rules committee has approved a
watered-down version of a controversial gun bill.

The latest versioni would allow Georgia gun owners to leave a firearm in their locked personal car at work, but only if they have a concealed
weapons permit and the worksplace owner says it's okay.

The Governors of both states will deliver their State of the State
messages Wednesday. Governor Perdue speaks to the Georgia
lawmakers in the afternoon; Governor Sanford delivers his remarks
Wednesday evening.

I feel that Gun law is very inappropriate. Although A person does have the right to bear arms but think about it reallistically why should a person be able to keep a weapon in a car no matter if it is locked or not I feel could ultimately be broken into or stolen which puts the genral public at risk. There are very bad areas in some parts of Georgia where i have witnessed children (not even legal to drive a car) breaking into vehicles with my very own eyes. So with that being said would a person feel more protected with a firearm in a vehicle or should we the general public be afraid? And i feel that shootings happen too seldom than we should like the sentence for unlawful possesion of a firearm is 3-5yrs, but who knows if this weapon was going to be used to commit a crime. I say stricter gun laws should be in place and any child caught with a weapon that still resides with their parents, the parents should undergo some sort of penalty. This is just my opinion guys thank you.
