Augusta, GA---"We are scared, but I don't know what to do." Usha and Kriss Dave have lived in the Hudson Trace subdivision for 8 years. The last 4 years a nightmare they say with Club Dreams moving right in their back yard. A recent shooting at the club Christmas morning left two men in the hospital.
"The club is right behind our fence so, shooting it can go anywhere." Club Dream's owner is speaking out saying things are about to change. He is announcing a possible new location along Damascus Road called Club Love. It would be new rules collared shirts a must...no one under 23 allowed. "21 don't make you an adult, our goal is to make sure people dress better, raise the age, give them time to mature a little bit," says the club's owner.
The move is music to the Dave's ears. "It's about time...yes sir." The club's owner calls it all unfortunate. Four men were arrested in connection with the club shooting. Three of them were under age 23. "We have opened our arms to the younger ones 21 and older but that's where you have most of your problem...the younger ones that haven't matured."
As for the future of Club Dreams the owner says it's days are numbered. "It would have to cease because you can't change what you've had for 4 years and ask an individual to change. You have to change the whole clientele."
