Perdue to sue Army Corps of Engineers over water

October 18, 2007

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue plans to file a lawsuit against the Army Corps of Engineers after the Corps didn't agree to his demand to lower water flow from Georgia's reservoirs into other states.

"It's a serious issue, one that we're willing to fight, and to do everything within our power to ensure that citizens are protected," said Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.

Georgia is concerned about the state's waters going to Florida and Alabama during this drought.
