SC Democratic Party wants to move up primary

October 4, 2007

The South Carolina Democratic Party is asking the National Committee for permission to move up the primary to January 19. It's currently set for the 29th.

Part of the reason is that the South Carolina Republicans are holding their presidential primary on the 19th.

That date would mean South Carolina's primaries would be the first in the South.
