AUGUSTA, Ga. -- After Uncle Sam leaves you high and dry Tuesday, some local businesses have deals to help ease the sting in your pocketbook.

Lots of stores and restaurants are offering free or discounted goods as a break for taxpayers, and the stores are saying it's been pretty good for business, too.

Lauren Williams, assistant manager at Sonic in North Augusta says, "We've been pretty busy all morning. Lunch has been good."

Their Tax Tuesday deal, half price drinks all day long, has kept the parking lot packed.

Adam Burton, a Sonic customer says, "Any break is a good break, especially with the way things are now."

Sonic isn't the only restaurants serving up sweet deals. If you "like" Auntie Anne's on Facebook, you can print out a coupon for a buy one, get one free pretzel.

And, if you're craving Chinese food, you're in luck. P.F. Chang's manager Brandon Ginther says they're offering 15 percent off the entire bill.

"I think it helps increase foot traffic, gets the restaurant a little bit busier, and it gives something back to the guests for their dedication and loyalty to the restaurant," Ginther said.

That deal applies to dine-in or carry-out customers, and customers like Bobby Weeks certainly aren't complaining.

"I think it's great! Helps everybody save a little money," he said.

And if you're still hungry after all of that, print out a coupon and head on over to Arby's for a free curly fry.

"Free" seems to be the word of the day.

"Completely free," said George Moore, the store manager for Office Depot.

Along with offering up to 25 free copies of your tax paperwork, Office Depot is also letting you shred up to 5 pounds of paper. The shredding and copying deal is good through Saturday.

"It's our way of thanking the customer for being an Office Depot customer," Moore said.
