AUGUSTA, Ga. -- If you are still helping Santa check off his list this holiday season, then most likely you're planning on visiting your local toy store soon.
Although shopping for children can be fun, it is also a serious task.
The 26th Annual Trouble in Toyland report is out and lists what parents need to watch out for on the toys shelves. The report focuses on toys that are potential toxic, choking, strangulation or noise hazards. According to Trouble in Toyland, over the past two decades, 200 children have died from choking on toys.
Another group, WATCH, released its nominees for top 10 worst toys of the year.
Here they are:
-Twist N Sort
-Pulling Animal Duck
-The Incredible Shrinky Dinks Maker
-Power Rangers Samuri Mega Blade,
-Sword Fighting Jack Sparrow,
-Stepper Low Rise Stilts
-Fold and Go Trampoline
-Gigan Godzilla Figure
An easy way to figure out whether a toy could be a choking hazard for a child under the age of three is the toilet paper roll test. If the toy can fit through the roll, then it's too small for a child under the age of three.
