AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. -- Pinterest is now the fastest-growing website out there with 17 million registered users in March.

Pinterest is an online bulletin board where users can "pin" recipes, craft ideas and even clothing. About 80 percent of the users are women.

Patrick King, social media expert with USC Aiken, warns users to read the fine print in Pinterest's terms of use.

"Pinterest is trying to protect themselves." he said.

The Terms of Use states, "You acknowledge and agree that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the entire risk arising out of your access ... you agree to ... hold cold brew labs, its officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from and against any claims."

In other words, if someone tries to sue for copyright infringement, then you can be pinned with the lawsuit.

"The best practices is to contact the person first before you pin something," King said.

King said users shouldn't worry too much about lawsuits because Pinterest is working on changing its terms of use.
