WRENS, Ga. -- Gilmore Daniels is disabled and relies on his television to keep up with the outside world.

He saved $1,900 to pay cash for his 65-inch Mitsubishi television.

"After eight months, the first bulb went in," Daniels said.

At first, he wasn't too concerned since he bought a five-year warranty, but the lamps kept blowing.

Daniels demanded his money back from the warranty company.

"Just run around, run around, run around, run around," he said.

Daniels finally called a number he saw on News 12.

"I seen it on TV and said, 'Maybe they will help me."

Seven years ago a Call for Action volunteer helped Daniels get his heat turned on in his home. He hoped they could help him this time, too.

Henry Wadsworth with Call for Action answered his call.

"He called us and asked if we could help to get any satisfaction, which we try to do," Wadsworth said.

Daniels received a check a few days after contacting Call for Action.

"I got a check two weeks ago for for $1,500," he said. "I appreciate what he did."

He also received a letter from the manufacturer announcing a recall on his particular TV later.

News 12 is looking for Call for Action Volunteers. If you have a passion to help people and resolve problems, please contact Elizabeth Owens at liz.owens@wrdw.com.
