AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- Jimmy Corbett knows the value of an honest business.
He's owned and run Corbett Extreme Pressure Klean out of his home in Aiken for more than 20 years now.
"We always guarantee our work," he said. "We always make sure they get their money's worth."
When Bene-Fit Health Products sent him a brochure in August, he says he went to their product meeting seeking help.
"It would help you with arthritis and other major other things," he explained. "It would be a blanket with magnets."
After talking with the sales representative, Corbett says he put in an order for two blankets, pillows and inserts.
"And we paid $2,800 and something odd dollars to them."
An amount Corbett says hit him hard.
"It set me back on paying my bills and everything because I really didn't have it, but it was something to help my health -- well, then, it was sure worth the money."
Corbett says several months passed and he never received his merchandise.
"After I didn't hear from them, I called them a couple of times. And around Christmas, they sent me a gift check for $25," he said.
The check came with an apology letter saying he'd get his products by March 15.
But now, nearly 3 months later, he says he still hasn't received his merchandise.
"I came from the old school, and I believe in a handshake and your word being your bond," he said.
Corbett says he still hopes to get his money back somehow. He says he also wants to warn others against Bene-Fit Health Product and buying products without a guarantee.
"It's gotten to where you really don't need to buy anything from anywhere unless you've personally got your hands on it," he said.
News 12 has reached out to the company several times over the last two weeks and has gotten no response.
The Better Business Bureau has more than 100 complaints on this company and, according to them, few have been resolved.
The BBB also reports being unable to locate the business to process complaints.
