The numbers are in and the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs says it had its most successful year ever.
The department says it helped people in the Palmetto State recover or save nearly $100 million over the past year.
$2.5 million in refunds went to people who deserved them from pawn-brokers, closed-down health clubs and credit counselors.
The $90 million in savings came from the department stepping in to stop fraudulent workers comp claims.
All-in-all, the department handled 7,000 claims in the past year.
