AUGUSTA, Ga.---An E. coli outbreak traced to recalled beef in Michigan and Ohio has spawned cases in three other states. New York, Kentucky, and Indiana have each reported one confirmed case of a bacterial infection that matches the 41 previous incidents.
The outbreak has been tied to meat sold in Kroger supermarkets, which has recalled more than 5 million pounds of beef. So far, Georgia and South Carolina are in the clear.
