FORT GORDON -- Dozens of workers are enjoying an early weekend after a power outage at Fort Gordon.

The military installation says power to about 80% of Fort Gordon was knocked out around 10:30 this morning.

All non-essential employees were sent home on administrative leave at one this afternoon.

News 12 talked to Georgia Power and found the company is working to solve an equipment problem. We're told the process involves replacing several insulators.

The power company is hoping to have the lights back on by 4 p.m. today.
