AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Five communities were recognized by Homeward Deployed for “their efforts to mobilize in support of the successful transition of Service Members, Veterans, Guard, Reserve and their families back home to Main Street.”
The awards were announced at the first Sea of Goodwill Awards ceremony Nov. 9 at AFCEA’s MILCOM 2011 Gala in Baltimore, Md.
The model links public, private and government resources to support service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve and their families during their transition home. The awards were given to the communities that best demonstrated the application of this model.
The following five communities were honored at this year’s ceremony:
Wyoming Valley Area, Penn. (Large Community-over 100,000)
Stillwater, Minn. (Mid-size Community-10,000 to 99,999)
Red Lodge, Mont. (Small Community-under 10,000)
Augusta, Ga. (Honorable Mention, Large Community)
Hugo, Minn. (Honorable Mention, Mid-size Community)
