Hardie Davis becomes Augusta's next mayor

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Former Senator Hardie Davis is the next mayor of Augusta.

Davis was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2007 and the Georgia State Senate in 2010.

The race for Augusta mayor was heated after Helen Blocker-Adams withdrew her name from the ballot.

Four candidates have been pushing to be the next mayor.
