AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A day to celebrate America's independence brings families from across our area together to share a plate of food and a sky of fireworks.


When: July 3
Where: Fort Gordon
Details: Fort Gordon’s Annual Independence Day fireworks, band concert and carnival will be held on July 3 on Barton Field. The carnival will open at 3 p.m., with military displays, craft and food vendors, live entertainment, water and carnival rides and fest tent seating.

The evening will feature the Team 15 Talent Show at 5 p.m., followed by a live concert at 7 p.m., with “The Swingin’ Medallions,” the U.S. Army Signal Corps Band at 8:30 p.m., and fireworks begin at dark.

Gates one, two, and five will be open to the public for inbound and outbound traffic starting at 6 p.m. Gate 3 will be open to outbound traffic only from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guest must present a picture I.D., vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.

Where: Lake Olmstead Stadium
Details: Friday & Saturday enjoy a Independence Day Celebration with Fireworks!
Game time for both days are 7 p.m. and gates open at 6 p.m.
Post-game fireworks presented by American Family Insurance. Post-game kids can run the bases. You can also play Launch a Ball and win prizes!

Where: Signers Monument, at the intersection of Monument and Greene Streets in Augusta, in front of the Augusta-Richmond County Government Center

Where: Augusta Common
Details: Live entertainment, children's fun zone, vendors and fun for the entire family on July 4 from 4-10 p.m in the Augusta Common. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Where: St. Paul's Church
Details: The Riverwalk Series presents A Star Spangled Fourth starring Russell Joel Brown and the Independence Day Chorus and Orchestra on Friday the 4th of July at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Church.

Enjoy your favorite patriotic hits in the air-conditioned comfort of historic St. Paul's Church and stay afterwards for the Afterglow Party catered by Publix and Pet Dairy while you enjoy the Riverwalk fireworks display.
Tickets can be bought online or call the Box Office 706-722-3463.

General admission tickets are $20 while 18 and younger are free. Afterglow party tickets are $15.

Where: The Village at Woodside
Details: The Village at Woodside 4th of July Celebration starts on Friday from 5-10 p.m.
There will be music by the Mike Frost Band and dancing until dark. Kids can enjoy a giant waterslide, moon walk, dunking booth, beach volleyball, and many other games guaranteed to provide some old fashioned family fun.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Aiken-Augusta Wounded Warriors. A $5 donation per car will be collected at the gate by The Wounded Warriors. Hamburger and hotdog plates will be available for an additional $5 donation per plate from the Carolina Signature Grill Masters.

Where: Curtis Baptist on 1326 Broad Street
Details: The Family Freedom Celebration will go from 4:30-8:30 p.m. on July 4 at Curtis Baptist on 1326 Broad Street.
Enjoy free food, music, inflatables, face painting for children and a Fun Run for all ages.(Register for the run here) Park at the church and walk through Downtown's "First Friday" to the citywide fireworks extravaganza!

Where: Mistletoe State Park in Appling
Details: Decorate bicycle or golf cart and dress up pets for a parade through the campground on July 4 at 9:30 a.m. All ages welcome to participate at Mistletoe State Park in Appling. Parking will be $5.

Where: Evans Towne Center Park
Details: The Columbia County Fourth of July Celebration will start at 2 p.m. on July 4 at Evans Towne Center Park. The 20th annual celebration will include water slides, carnival rides, hot air balloon rides, food, fun and fireworks at dark. Entry is free.

Where: Downtown Augusta
Details: The Greater Augusta Arts Council will hold its monthly First Friday celebration in downtown Augusta on July 4 from 5-9 p.m.

Where: SL Marina Beach at Thurmond Lake near McCormick
The Thurmond Lake Sail & Power Squadron is back to host the Independence Day Celebration at Thurmond Lake. Gathering at the Dorn Boating Facility at 10am, boats will pass the judges stand starting at 10:30. We then make way to circle the 'Ice Cream Boat' where ice cream sandwiches and goodie bags will be tossed to all participants. At the SL Marina Beach, the McCormick Community Beach Party goes from noon to 4pm; we will have free hot dogs (limit 2), chips, and soda. Adult activities, children's games and contests.
