CANTON, Ga. -- Authorities say three bodies have been found in the rubble of a house fire in Cherokee County, north of Atlanta.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that firefighters were called to the home before dawn on Wednesday, after an explosion was heard in the neighborhood.
Cherokee Fire spokesman Lt. Tim Cavender said neighbors reported hearing the explosion around 3:45 a.m.
Cavender says the house was destroyed by the time firefighters arrived, and the three bodies were pulled from the ruins of the split-level home.
Their identities were not immediately released.
