AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The city of Augusta has received funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist homeless or people at-risk of being homeless.
The purpose of the HPRP funds is to provide homelessness prevention assistance. The primary goal of the program is to stabilize individuals or families.
To be eligible, you must meet several criteria. First, the household has to receive at least an initial consultation and eligibility assessment with a case manager. There are income requirements to be met. Circumstances that allow an individual or household to be eligible are also very specific.
Several agencies in the Augusta area can provide more information including Antioch Ministries, Safe Homes, CSRA EOA, Salvation Army, United Way and East Augusta Community Development Corp.
