ATLANTA (AP) — Zoo Atlanta officials say the second giraffe calf born in the zoo's 122-year history now has a name: Lily.
The name of the 2-month-old animal was supplied by Tami Honeycutt of Ringgold, who won the Name the Giraffe Calf Sweepstakes.
Zoo officials say Honeycutt's winning name suggestion is a tribute to her mother, Lillian.
Lily was born July 22. Zoo officials say Lily is now on exhibit daily with other family members.
Curator of mammals Rebecca Snyder says giraffes are among the most popular animals at Zoo Atlanta.
