AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Augusta medical community is grieving after losing five of their own to a plane crash Wednesday night.

Many considered Dr. Steven Roth and his team lifesavers.

Family, friends and total strangers sought comfort, praying with bowed heads and heavy hearts on Thursday.

Henry Partridge, a patient , said Roth saved his life.

"My blood wasn't circulating and flowing like it should be. I had some blood clots. He had to dissolve those before he did the surgery," Partridge said.

Partridge and family and friends of the victims are heartbroken to hear about the plane crash that killed Roth and four of his employees at the Thomson-McDuffie County Regional Airport.

"The biggest thing would be the close-knit relationship that the Vein Guys have with everyone in their office," he said. "When you talked to them, it just seems to be the right place to work."

Pastor Jason Mitchem and the Revivify Church family are in mourning as well. A mother killed in the crash sent her children to his church.

"Casting all of our cares on Him and in His hands is where it really comes into play. That's what gets us through this, regardless of the questions," Mitchem said.

Revivify Church is holding a service for plane crash victims this Sunday at 11:15 a.m. at the Columbia County Library in Evans.
