AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Haltermann Partners, Inc. and Cassandra and Glen Brinson are pleased to announce the opening of Café 209 in the Nash Building, 566 Broad (corner of Broad St. and Monument St.).
Café 209 is a caterer and restaurant which has been in business in downtown Augusta for 12 years, first at the corner of Ellis and Tenth Street, then, more recently, at the base of Eighth Street next to the Riverwalk.
Café 209 specializes in catering services for all special events and regional cuisine served daily, Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 6 p,m. The opening occurred on March 19.
Cassandra Brinson calls the move to her new space (on the same block with the long-running Luigi’s Restaurant), “This significant corner location, historic building ambiance and the ample parking make this new location the best move I have ever made.”
566 Broad Street was built as a commercial townhouse about 1857 by wholesale grocery merchant Thomas Rhodes and used as the Nash automobile dealership beginning in the early 1940s. The building was vacant with all window openings boarded up immediately prior to the renovation for Café 209 during the last nine months.
In addition to the restaurant space in the front, there are five 600 to 1,000 SF spaces along Monument Street which Haltermann Partners, Inc plans to lease for studio, storage and catering businesses.
