AUGUSTA, Ga. --- An Augusta man has been indicted for an accident that left is passenger dead back in June.
On Tuesday, a grand jury charged 37-year-old Christopher Chason Roberts with first degree homicide by vehicle, failure to maintain lane, and an open container violation.
The accident happened the evening of June 4th, on Bobby Jones Expressway and Doug Bernard Parkway.
Deputies say Roberts vehicle flipped and landed upside down.
His passenger, 20-year-old Whitney Leanne Revis, died from head trauma.
This is not Robert's first run-in with the law. He was charged with DUI back in 2000 and 2002 and in 1992 he was also charged with serious injury by a vehicle.
