AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A local columnist was honored by the Augusta West Rotary Club during its annual Media Day program on Thursday afternoon.

Augusta Chronicle columnist Don Rhodes won the Louis Harris Award. Rhodes has earned many accolades through writing "Ramblin' Rhodes," including being inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame.

The award was started in 1978 in honor of Louis Carl Harris, who was a longtime editor of The Augusta Chronicle and The Augusta Herald.

News 12's Richard Rogers won the Louis Harris Award in 2007.
