SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- A champagne bottle shattered against the bow of the U.S.S. Savannah during the ship's launching ceremonies in 1937 is among items being donated to a Savannah museum.
The curator of exhibits and education at the Ships of the Sea museum says the bottle and other items will help tell the story of the U.S.S. Savannah.
The ship was at several key battles in World War II and then sold for scrap in the 1960s.
Jane Moore returned to Savannah on Tuesday to present the museum with the broken champagne bottle.
