AIKEN, S.C. -- From 2007 to 2009, the Aiken Department of Public Safety increased their DUI arrests 41% from 139 arrests to 197.

Six offers were recognized on March 25 for their achievements in DUI Enforcement. The awards were presented by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Aaron Dobbs, B.J. Clark, Chris Walker, George Gymer, and Josh Falkner were awarded the Bronze DUI Enforcement Hero Award for 10 or more DUI arrests during 2009.

CPL Chris Carter was awarded the Silver DUI Enforcement Hero Award for 25 or more DUI arrests in 2009.

Since 2008 the Aiken Department of Public Safety has conducted over 40 DUI Awareness and Traffic Safety presentations, reaching over 3,000 current and future drivers.
