BURKE CTY, Ga.---It's a common teen complaint during the summer: "There's nothing to do."
Some in Burke County hope to change that.
They have come up with a new center called the Teen Scene. Its grand opening was today.
The center will serve kids ages twelve to 18. Organizers plan to offer recreation, arts and entertainment, after school tutoring, and more.
"One of the things we wanted to do for the children is have a place where they can come and have recreation, they can have workshops, just a place where they can interact socially and also receive academic support, sort of like a boys and girls club," said executive director Deena Sams.
The Teen Scene is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am until 7 pm.
