Local golf pros hold benefit clinic

April 2, 2007

AUGUSTA, Ga.---Some local pro golfers are giving back.

Vaughn Taylor, Charles Howell III, and Jim Dent were at the Municipal Golf Course in Augusta this morning, holding a clinic to benefit the Adaptive Golf Challenge and the Walton Foundation.

It's a chance for folks recovering from injuries to get out on the course.

"I'm basically 6'2" 275 pounds, and in this chair I'm basically able to stand up and hit a golf ball like a normal golfer," said participant Macio Jacobs, Jr.

Also today, Mayor Copenhaver presented a proclamation declaring the first Monday of April as Disability Awareness Day in Augusta.
