Camel rides, funnel cakes, and live country music. It doesn't get much better than that.
Today was day one of the Western Carolina State Fair...and so far, so good, thanks to acts like Aaron Tippin and all the families who helped to kick things off. It was a fun-filled night that was truly a family affair.
There were plenty of thrilling rides for the daring, and all sorts of things for those who chose to play it safe: basketball, the ring toss, bouncy slides. And of course, there was plenty to see--including Aaron Tippin in concert.
And the fair is just beginning. It will be in town until Saturday, October 28.
The fair is at the Aiken Jaycees Fairgrounds, just off Highway 1 in Aiken.
The gates closed tonight at 11, and they'll reopen tomorrow at 5 p.m.
Admission is just $6.
Tomorrow's big attraction will be the Victoria Circus.
You can catch the circus in the Bridgestone Firestone Arena. It will be going on all day.
You can also visit the interactive zoo, or even take a camel ride. There will be arts and crafts on display. And make sure you check out Nick's Kids Show each night. There are two shows: one at 6, the other at 8 p.m.
