AUGUSTA, Ga. -- High school students between 15 and 18 years of age can begin applying for Georgia Health Sciences University’s and Health System’s Volunteen Program.

The program lasts for six weeks during the summer and provides the teens with an educational, hands-on volunteer experience. They get a chance to learn how to help patients, families and staff.

The application deadline is April 15, and the program begins June 1.
