DENMARK, S.C. -- According to a release from Dobbs Equity Partners, LLC, plans are moving forward for the new Regional Hospital for the Bamberg County/Barnwell County area.
The initial artist rendering of the hospital, to be constructed near Denmark, shows a state-of-the-art facility that is to include private rooms for inpatient care, multiple surgery suites, a full-service emergency department, labor and delivery department and other services. They are also working on multi-specialty physician office centers that should bring some new specialists to the area.
GMK Associates, Inc. from Columbia, S.C., has been working on the design with Dobbs. Dobbs has also been working with leading healthcare professionals for several months to make sure they meet the healthcare needs of the region. A preliminary list of services and specialties planned include general surgery, urology, medical cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopedics and orthopedic surgery and more.
“We are anxious to complete the sale process with the counties and begin working to recruit new physicians to the area,” said Rick Greene, Executive Vice President of Dobbs Equity Partners, LLC, in the release. “We are releasing our preliminary rendering of the new hospital so the people of the Bamberg and Barnwell communities can see for themselves our plans for the Regional Hospital.”
The Denmark area has been selected for the Regional Hospital System (RHS) due to its central location. This will help patients from both Barnwell and Bamberg counties. Until the new hospital is finished, they will be using the Barnwell County hospital as a headquarters.
