Leslie A. Clonch, Jr., CHCIO - the new Vice President and Chief Information Officer for University Health Care

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Leslie A. Clonch Jr., a results-driven information systems and health care executive with more than 25 years of progressive experience, has accepted the position of vice president and chief information officer for University Health Care System.
Mr. Clonch comes to University from Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, Texas, an integrated health care delivery system comprised of multiple medical, surgical, specialty and diagnostic centers.
He has a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Harding University in Searcy, Ark., and a master's degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. He is a member of the Health Information Management Systems Society and the College of Health Information Management Executives. He holds the designation of Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer.
In this position, Mr. Clonch will provide vision and leadership for the strategic development and management of information, information resources and information technology to support University's mission, goals and program priorities. He will determine the health system's long-term information needs and develop a strategic plan to meet them, explained James R. Davis, president/CEO of University Health Care System.
"Les is a seasoned leader with a unique blend of business acumen, knowledge of health care and technology trends and interpersonal skills," Mr. Davis said. "He has a successful history of team building, organizational effectiveness and process efficiencies. He will be a tremendous asset to our team."
Mr. Clonch replaces Bill Colbert, who retired in the spring. He will join University July 5.
