THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW) -- Administrators at Norris Elementary School in Thomson sent home a letter to parents on Friday notifying them that multiple cases of head lice have been reported.
All children in classrooms where lice and nits have been reported will be undergoing checks by school personnel. If a student tests positive, he or she will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian. The students will not be able to return until they are proven to be lice and nit free.
Fifth grade cap and gown photo sessions were canceled on Friday. A make-up session will be held on Monday, April 15, at 9:15 a.m.
Lice are transmitted through personal articles like combs, brushes, hats, pillowcases and headphones.
