BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. -- News 12 has learned the plan to sell the Barnwell and Bamberg hospitals is down to one.
Bamberg County has backed out of its part of the deal for both counties to sell their hospitals to another management company.
Councilman Lowell Jowers said he learned last week Bamberg was looking to sell its now-defunct hospital, too.
Last month, Barnwell agreed to move forward with the deal to see but were waiting on Bamberg.
Barnwell County says its part of the deal is still a go. The attempt to sell the hospitals has been ongoing for the past two years.
