AUGUSTA, Ga.---A local ministry that helps women all over the world is celebrating another year of supporting women with cancer. The Lydia Project held their 7th Annual Dessert Auction.
People crowded into the historic Richmond on Greene Hotel where they made bids on a huge selection of homemade desserts.
It's a ministry that started with a handful of volunteers making totes for women with cancer.
"We started with just a handful of volunteers and made totes that first year for about 120 women. It's grown now to where we have sent totes all over the world," said Laura Holder who is a Lydia Founding Member.
The next big thing for Lydia is to build the Daksha Chudgar Lydia House. It's named for a local OBGYN who died of cancer. The home will be built near Doctors Hospital to support women going through cancer treatment.
