Seasonal flu vaccine available in Columbia County

If you are looking for clinics, Columbia County now has doses of the Seasonal Influenza Vaccine, Live Attenuated Nasal spray.
According to a news release, the vaccine is available to people from 2 years old to 49 years old on a first come, first serve basis. The cost will be $30.00.
Columbia County has provided a list of people who should not receive the vaccine. These include:
- Children/adolescents on long-term aspirin treatment
- People with a severe allergy to eggs or to any other substance in the vaccine
- Anyone with a weakened immune system
- Children younger than 2 years of age or adults 50 years of age and older
- Pregnant women
- Lung Disease
- Kidney Disease
- Asthma
- Metabolic Disease, i.e., Diabetes
- Liver Disease
- Anemia and other blood disorders
In addition, they warn that if you have received the H1N1 Live Intranasal spray, you must wait 30 days before taking the Seasonal Live Attenuated nasal spray.
Clinics will be operating from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the following Columbia County Health Department locations:
Evans Clinic - 616 Government Center Way
Appling Clinic - 6420 Pollards Pond Road
Grovetown Clinic - 5915 Euchee Creek Drive
