A record freshman class, new buildings all over campus, and a new cancer center up and running...all proof that MCG is strong and getting better.
That was the message of MCG president Dr. Dan Rahn's State of the University address today.
This year the Medical College welcomed a freshman class of 190, more new students than any time since the 70s.
I sat down with Dr. Rahn this afternoon, and he told me the school's impact on the community will continue to grow.
"I would envision that excellence in the community and at MCG and the more patients we treat from the surrounding area would mean we'd be even more of a magnet for healthcare," he said.
Dr. Rahn also says research grants are up by more than 100, and they've seen a 4.5 percent increase in NIH funding.
