Seniors can learn about 2006 Medicare changes, new Prescription Drug Plans
What: A Let’s Talk” Mobile Education RV will be in Augusta, Ga. on Mon., Dec. 12 to help educate and inform the public about the coming Medicare changes, including the new Medicare prescription drug coverage – one of the largest shifts in Medicare policy to date. The vehicle is one of 10 “Let’s Talk” RVs sponsored by health benefits company Humana visiting more than 450 Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club locations across the country.
Humana Medicare advisors will be on hand to distribute educational materials and explain Medicare changes in face-to-face meetings with Medicare beneficiaries. The Mobile Education RV is providing information to Augusta-area seniors on 2006 Medicare benefits, including the new Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage, and Humana’s 2006 Medicare plan options in Augusta, such as the standalone Prescription Drug Plan, available for all Medicare eligibles.
When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mon., Dec. 12, 2005
Where: Wal-Mart Supercenter, 3209 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Ga.
Why: While Medicare prescription drug coverage will offer seniors more choices than ever before, it’s also created a great deal of complexity and confusion. Humana’s “Let’s Talk” RV tour is aimed at providing guidance for beneficiaries so that during the current Medicare open enrollment period for next year, which began Nov. 15 and extends through May 15, 2006, people with Medicare can select the coverage that best suits their needs.
RV Schedule: The Humana Medicare Mobile Education RV will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Augusta-area tour stops on Mon., Dec. 12 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 3209 Deans Bridge Road, and Tues., Dec. 13 at Wal-Mart, 1201 Knox Road, North Augusta, SC. There is no admission charge, and people are welcome to visit the RV on Dec. 12-13 in the Augusta area during those hours.
