ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- A University of Georgia law school graduate has been selected to serve as a judicial clerk for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Andrew A. Pinson has been chosen to work for Thomas for the October 2013 term. The school says Pinson's appointment makes him the sixth UGA law graduate in nine years to be selected as a U.S. Supreme Court clerk.

Pinson graduated first in his class from the law school in 2011. He was the executive articles editor for the Georgia Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

After graduation, Pinson served as a judicial clerk for Judge David B. Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Pinson is currently an attorney with Jones Day in Washington, D.C.
