TONIGHT: Mostly clear & cold. Low 28. Winds: NW 5-10 mph.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. High 52. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.
WEATHER DISCUSSION: Very dangerous travel conditions will continue into today. Ice on trees will continue to snap limbs and crash to the ground. There is still the potential for more wintry precipitation. Look for some light snow to work into the CSRA from 5 to 9 am this morning. As the morning progresses, temps. will start to rise and eventually break the freezing mark. That will allow precip. to return to the liquid state of just a chilly rain, which will taper off as the noon to 1 pm approaches. Past this morning, look for sunshine to make a return and a warm up into the mid 60s by the weekend. Despite the warmer days this weekend, look for another cool night Friday night into Saturday morning. Due to this next cool down and another batch of gulf moisture working into the CSRA at the same time, data is suggesting there may be another round of a wintry mix possible. At this point, we're just monitoring this setup. Stay tuned to News 12 for updates.
