AIKEN COUNTY (WRDW) -- Crews from around the U.S. are in the CSRA helping to clean storm damage.

Thursday, crews from Kentucky worked to remove trees from lines near Aiken Estates. Some of south Aiken does have power, but the Horse District, Downtown Aiken, and much of the valley remains without power. Many in valley are also without water.

SCE&G says they focus on the bigger areas of the county, like Aiken and North Augusta first, then they hit the rural places.

The power company asks to be patient. One co-op worker said the damage is equal to the damage of hurricane Hugo.

Aiken County Emergency Operations Center says they hope to have the South Carolina National Guard troops on the ground soon to help with the clean up.
