AIKEN, S.C. (AP) -- Officials at the Savannah River Site are hosting an event for deer hunters with disabilities.
The annual hunt is taking place Friday and Saturday at the former nuclear weapons complex near Aiken. The day's activities include a breakfast and safety briefing. After the hunt, there is a banquet lunch, recognition program and raffle.
Organizers say the sprawling complex is an ideal place to do the event and provides a safe environment for hunters.
This year's festivities are sponsored in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service and the Wheelin' Sportsman National Wild Turkey Federation.
